Eric Sealine’s “Peripheral Vision” opens at Boston Sculptors Gallery, 486 Harrison Avenue in Boston, on June 9th, 2021, running through July 11th, 2021.

“For years I have worked with 'forced perspective', a form of constructed trompe l'oeil. With this body of work I have taken this idea further, out to the limits of peripheral vision, where all straight lines have two vanishing points.

There are four main artworks in the show, each a three-dimensional panorama as seen from a corner of my studio. The first, built in late 2019, is a view from the East corner, largely in black-and-white, full of the tools, artworks, and the other stuff studios seem to collect. It refers to the rich experience (and privilege) of working as an artist.

Then Covid hit. The other three are very spare, in nearly-monochromatic natural wood. They have about them a Euclidean regard for the space itself, something we have all had time to experience.”

The gallery is open 11:00 am to 5:00 pm, Wednesday through Sunday, with special events including First Friday Reception on July 2nd from 5:00 to 8:30 pm, plus an artists’ reception on Saturday, June 19 from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm.
